    My rule

My rule is 1/2 retail for used. Once purchased a Catrike for $700. It was
nice as new. That takes time and if I didn't have a nice trike, then I would
likely go to a dealer and negotiate a new trike. Dealers are struggling and
will cut a deal and they have financing. Free/no interest is nice. Some will
go 12-18 months. When you get to where you can get a $5000. trike for
$1500., you will feel good all over yourself. Go to a dealer and ride every
trike you can, and then be patient. Never get in a hurry.

    My current trike stable:

Lightfoot Greenway $3800. My price like new, $1200.

    Greenspeed GTO

Catrike Trail....Nice at retail. Catrike is best going for price IMO.

I wholeheartedly agree. I just picked up a Catrike Expedition, just under 2 years old, with 735 miles on it for $1450+change at the HOT Rally last weekend. I had seen it sitting in the shop and didn't realize it was a used trike for the first 2 days. I'm pretty pleased with the deal especially since the shop will spruce up his old trike and sell it for us. I could probably get a little more for it if I sold it myself, but I'm not unhappy letting someone sell it for me, especially if it means I don't have to ship it. :laugh9:

Patience is definitely a virtue when it comes to finding deals on trikes ( and a little luck never hurts either )

I am not in retail of any kind. I can tell you that the margin on a catrike can not be that much to a dealer. The best break a dealer could offer would be on financing, or in rare cases, trade ins, or possibly older version demo's.
Good luck on your build! The process needs to stay fun!

Thanks guys I have now built two and love trikes. I now have a problem moving them around. I guess a trailer would do and I could stack one on top of the other. Does anyone have other ideas?
We live In Palos Park, IL and go for miles down the cal SAG trail that was just built. I think it may take you into Chicago if your brave enough.

Neither of these options are cheap, but it shows what can be done to carry two trikes...

    TwoTrikes.jpg
DraftMaster - Catrike Trail tadpole and Sun EZ-3 delta

    2trike-rack.jpg
HITCHRIDER - Double Decker™ trike hitch rack
I can testify to the heavy-duty build of the HitchRider Trike Rack, as we have one that carries a single trike. The Double-Decker add-on is $295, but we've not picked one of them up...yet. :wink9: In time perhaps, but based on what we do have, I completely trust HitchRider's quality.

FYI: ATOC has purchased Draftmaster and is selling their racks.
