A year of work weeks is 2080 hours, but wait, that would be 40 miles
a week in miles. I can do that. Back in 2006 I rode 3100 miles and that
scared the crap out of big bad Dave. We were at that time, a Yahoo group.

My apologies Dave!!! I didn't mean to equate you with Jon. I'll let you two decide who should consider themselves being put down.

Yes, here in So Cal we also have lights and stop signs, which the cars sometimes actually follow. Thankfully most of my riding is on bike trails so that I only have to dodge the maintenance vehicles. :yes9:

As for the heat, yes, occiasionally it does get warm here, but I understand because it is a dry heat that you don't feel it (not) but even when it's warm, I enjoy riding because it means when I stop, it feels a lot cooler!!! :wink9:

As for today, I am enjoying our snow. I had to go to a meeting about 20 miles north of my home, the snow on the mountain tops was beautiful, so nice and white. But, it was really nice not having to wear a jacket to stay warm. (You can beat me now because I deserve it!)

    Greene County Rides----again

Riding every day that we can. Thirty five miles today. That would
be times five riders. Mickey and Bill H. really stacking them up. Mickey
is still wearing shorts. Well, it was 40 today.

    Congats! That is so great!

I just managed to tick my mile count for the year over 650 with a 7.78 mile ride today. It was either ride with Loke or walk him. If I can, I'll take riding over a 20 min walk ANY time. :jiggy9:

It was much warmer than my last ride. 39 F as opposed to 30 F. I also tried out my new cycling shoes and I LOVE them. :yes9: They're a Shimano woman's shoe for touring or mountain biking. For once, I kept the feeling in my toes and it wasn't the sensation of pain! I never thought I'd find a shoe with enough room for all my toes instead of just 4 or less. :tongue9: They're also easier to walk in than my last 3 pairs without sacrificing any sole stiffness.

So, in spite of the gray skies and stiff wind, I was happy to be out. We're supposed to get some snow tomorrow, but hopefully the weather man is wrong and I'll be able to get a few more rides in.

    Terii,

Why ride? Most ride for health. Five miles a day every day is much healthier
than riding 35 miles one day a week. Every day is better than now-and-then
in any physical activity. Mike may agree. Walking is better than biking, but so
    boring.

I love riding and do it for health, but I love riding most when I'm exploring someplace new. I get insanely bored going over the same routes day after day. So does Loke. The more bored he is, the slower he goes. Nothing like creeping along at 5 mph and getting dirty looks from your cycling buddy because he wants new ground.

And I'd LOVE to get 20+ miles a day as many days a week I can, but weather and various health concerns have been slowing me down. :(

OK... What is wrong with this picture???

    It is December 15, 2011

    Cloudy
    Windy
    Temperature 65 degrees!!!

I had to dig out my shorts and short sleeve t shirt to go riding today. Also uncovered by sandals. Broke a sweat!!!

Crazy weather!!! Did 15.4 miles today. The Knoxville Greenways are all torn up doing sewer work. It is now an obstacle course! I got half my exercize lifting my V Rex OVER stuff (temporary drainage pipes, water supplies, gravel, etc...) So I am getting a total body workout these days.

Tour de Lights - Knoxville TN

My wife was watching the news this morning and they did a piece on the Tour De Lights which happened last night. She said she saw a recumbent with lights on it.

OK... who was it? I haven't see the clip yet.

There were 5-6 recumbents there last night. Where were you???? I had thought that was one ride that you wouldn't miss. the weather was perfect! Even I, on my little BikeE did it. For my first time riding the tour de lights it was a lot of fun despite showing me just how much I need to get out more... but I did the whole route...no SAG!

Mike, Paul, Ed, Me, Paul's brother, unnamed EZ3 rider, Dwight, Keila. That makes 8 recumbents, 6 of which were trikes. Keila is featured in several shots done by the KRTA and Mike is in the TV report. Keila was driving an Ice cycle and by that I mean it was covered in little LED icicles.
