I'll not be riding for a while....been a bad week..:s18:Finishing up my LAST round of chemo tomorrow. Then "hopefully" after a few weeks I can get back at it. Granted I'll miss riding during this pretty weather.:s7: oh well. At least it will be over.

This week was BEAUTIFUL in East Tennessee. Mid 70s, sunny and no humidity. Rode everyday this week which is very unusual for me. Couldn't help getting outside with weather like this!!! WOW. Rode 20.8 miles on my Strada today. Caught 1 wabbit.

Have not been able to ride mornings like i was, so i have been riding late evenings, into the night.
Seems every time i put my bike in the shop they forget to put an accessory back on. So now i have 5 or 6 blinky headlights but no mounting brackets.
Decided to break down and buy 1 more just to get a new bracket, but that ain't hapn'n. They have changed up all the lights so now none of my perfectly functional lights will fit my new bracket.
It is about 9:30 pm and the sky has seriously opened up so i am at Panera Bread trying to wait it out. The radio said earlier the winds were 15 to 20 mph so they must be about 35 now and swirling. I don't have a plastic bag to make a diaper with to cover the natural weak spot in my Frogg Toggs so i hope i do not have to use them to get home.
For some reason i can not seem to come up with a mileage number that doesn't end around 88 or 89. By the time i get home tonight i will have just over 100 for the past 2 days and tonight.
Right now i am at 88 and change.
Bad news is i found out at church last night i am not going to be able to do the charity cancer ride. It is on Sunday from 7:30 am to about 12:30. She forgot to mention that when she axed me to ride. I probably should have axed but i naive'ly assumed since we were already at church on Sunday morning she would know that is where i want to be on Sunday morning.
Oh well, if i can save one nice breast it is money well spent . lol :jiggy9:

Horrible rain storm hasn't let up since 9pm last night. I have rode in worse, but not by choice. So i have no plans to ride in this one. I have however located my life jacket, paddles, water shoes, and have cleaned the canoe. A couple more days of this and i will go paddling instead.......:jiggy9:

Did 33.1 miles today on a Sunday Club Ride. I think 9 or 10 DF riders showed up and we had a blast in good weather. I think there was around 1200 feet of climbing. I got a few compliments, on the hills we hit. I never let anyone beat me up a hill and they said "I didn't think recumbents could climb, and I will fix your brakes so we can keep up with you on hills". "I notice you are getting a lot better climbing"

I had fun keeping up with the lead pack..I think my average was 15.2 ..

My only goal is to let folks now that recumbents DON'T SUCK!

I dint have much time to video because I was riding at a decent pace for me but here is what i got.

NICE! Compliments are always good to hear, especially when you are doing well.

    Excellent!

That is something I have always tried to do as well. Let people know that they don't suck and that they are not just for people with disabilities.

Rain finally broke for a few hours today. Saw a girl Kayaking down the street, but i did not take the canoe out. I am a bit nervous in traffic in a canoe.
2nd highest amount of rain ever recorded here. 65 mph winds and the weather service didn't even give it a number let alone a name.
Got in a 13 mile ride this morning before i realized there were trees all over the house and about 50 feet of fence crushed in the back yard and a dozen or so more in the side yard.
After i got most of it cleaned up cut up and stacked up; i went for another 13 miles on my way to men's Bible study.
Hope to do better tomorrow. But it is supposed to rain.......:jiggy9:

Stuck in a hotel in Vonore, TN for a 2 day stint in one of our plants doing a safety audit. Hope rain will end by Wednesday afternoon, as I brought the Rocket along. We need the rain, but we need it over within 36 hours. Maybe the Alcoa/Maryville network Wednesday.
