Hey! When did you sneak over to Sweden!? :p

We had a truly wierd day yesterday. The far northern part of Sweden was in the 32-34 F range. I'm talking land of the no-SUN above Arctic circle. Way down here in the southern end of mid-Sweden, 8 F. :eek9:

Tomorrow, we're supposed to be above freezing. This winter is just all messed up. The good news is, more than half of the 3+ feet of snow we had is gone. You can even see asphalt on some of the smaller roads! Just a bit more melting and I might head out on a ride with my heavy duty thermals to see how that works. :jiggy9:

My criteria for riding is sunny and 40 degrees. I kept staring at the thermometer I have in my office as it started in the morning at 31 degrees. At 3 o'clock it hit 40 degrees and I was out the door for a short 45 minute ride of 10.3 miles. I felt so liberated!!! Come on sun and 40. I am ready to be riding :bike: every day if possible!!! Cabin fever is getting to me!!

I was REALLY bored today and finally had to get out and the temp got around 37 Degrees so off I went. It was fun getting out of the house. Still a few icy spots here and there but not bad. 20.8 miles

I made a movie for Buddy! Its very hard to get started on a Recubment with one hand..lol

I bought some vented motorcycle goggles and they pretty much stopped the watery eyes in the cold

    Interesting video. Needs some narration.

Try wrapping a layer of foam around the microphone to slow down the wind noise, or tape a layer across it if a "flat" microphone.

Its a cell phone so the tape may work..I may try tape and a cotton ball. I am not much at narrating though.

    Spring?

Today was probably the nicest day to be outside in East Tennessee so far in 2011. Cloudless sky, temp in low 60s, a little breezy but came in handy on the tennis court. Only got a little over 20 miles in today, but also got in four l..o..n..g sets. Maybe spring is around the corner despite the calendar showing 51 days of winter left.

Fort Knox is in Kentucky and except for decent basketball we can't comment on their situation. But since you asked:
1.3 million years ago, and more recently Tennessee becoming a state in 1796, this area has been officially recognized world-wide as God's Country. The capital is Clingman's Dome, the national bird is the fried chicken, and the national sports are line dancing at Cotten Eyed Joe's on Saturday and church on Sunday (or vice versa). The national transportation system consists of 168 million bicycles supplemented by just enough cars to get you to today's trail put-in point. The men are strong; the women are gorgeous; and the home-grown whiskey makes 'em all look even better at closing time. As such we enjoy special privileges such as no snow when every state bordering has snow.

We're not bragging cuz we're not uppity. But we is what we is, and we is humbly grateful to live where God daily looks down and asks himself, "What can I do for those people today?"

A 2-1/2 hr drive directly north of Nashville. 6 hours from here, and those jerks at Ft. Knox wouldn't even give me their scraps after driving all that way. Had to drive empty-handed back to Tennessee where they give us gasoline (plus a $2.80/gallon handling fee) and a nutricious meal at Cracker Barrel is free (plus $7 tax).

No reason to leave Tennessee except the occasional ride on the Silver Comet, Chief Ladiga, Katy, Little Miami, Va. & Todd Creeper, New River, Swamp Rabbit, Blue Ridge Pkwy., Tybee Island, Augusta Canal, Stone Mtn., Road to Nowhere, New Bartram, and a few hundred others. God must want us to stay humble, seeins how he hasn't seen fit to provide a rail trail of any size in the state.

YES! I got to ride 2 days in s row! Did 31.5 miles today, I rode my bike up to an outlet store in Stephens City to see if they had any goodies I could bring back home, but I found nothing that would fit on my Bike. I just went over 200 miles for January about 100 short of what I want for each month.

This is my longest V-Rex Ride to date and I can feel my legs a tad bit sore. I still dont think i have gotten my recumbent legs yet. I am gettingused ot thecold now though..I will probably suffer from heat exhaustion when it gets up in the 70's lol
