Brian, I'm pedaling them all. I've been riding with cheaters.
They got all down in the face when I rode with them with
the Honda assist. Ok, so I put the Reno Silver Streak on the
Road. They were in shock when the fat man blew them away
riding a polished aluminum Goldrush bare bones. Now they
won't have a chance when fat man drops 70 pounds and adds
the fairing and tail sock. May install a body sock. Well, what
is cheating. Carbon fiber at 15 pounds, titanium (?) pounds
or GRR decked out at 30 pounds. Gives me another goal to
work on. BTW, I pedal the engine assist Greenway all the
time. I'll use it a lot. I filled the van yesterday....$60. That
    is a motivator for me.

I paid $4.90/gal for regular gas in Aspen, Colorado last week. As absurd as it was, friends just returned from a 27 day road trip and paid $5.50/gal at the east end of Death Valley.

Glad to hear some of us are getting out. I've been a bit lax in the cycling department. Just had a strange shift in attitude where it feels like too much trouble to wrestle things out the door or figure out where to go that isn't a 100 mile drive, etc.

I've done short rides around here, but they don't really hold my attention either. Ahh well. :p

A lot of it might have been stress over the whole driving test thing. I swear, it feels like you should get a Doctorate handed to you with the driving license. :rolleyes9:

Rode 29 miles yesterday. Did a NEW ride. First went the greenway and back roads towards East Knoxville. Then continued over Boyds Creek Bridge and out Thorngrove Pike. This road takes you all the way to Kodak Tennessee. This is a marked bike trail because I saw all sorts of bicycle markers (including rest stops that weren't there) along the way. To make it to Kodak would be 20 miles each way. I didn't have time to do that, so I did 15 miles of it and then turned back.

This route has some long climbs. Wore me out!!!!! And even though humidity was low (for Tennessee that is) it was still hot (92 degrees when I got back to work). Sweat was pouring off of me.

Speaking of sweat (like that segway???), I saw Dennis was talking about an alternative to a sweat band called Sweat Gutr earlier this year. They were pricey, but I bought one. I would have to stop every hour or so and wring out my old sweat band on long hot rides. My forehead looks like Niagara Falls when I get hot.

So I wore the Sweat Gutr yesterday for the first time to see if it is any good. Well it worked like a charm. Kept sweat out of my eyes. It is a weird sensation having it "rain" on my ears but that was it. Yesterday's heat definitely put this to the test. Instead of absorbing the sweat, it has a little plastic gutter that channels the sweat away from your forehead and dumps it over your ears. So the Sweat Gutr gets a  from me!!! That is what I will be using on all long hot rides from now on.

    Vegans don't sweat or stink.

BTW, I rode my bicycle 20 miles yesterday. It was 90 degrees and the
lying somebritches told me there would be no hills on this ride. Well,
how many times have I heard that. No hills? How come the P-38 was
eating their lunch in the 30's one minute and dragging my extra 70
pounds of pure derrière the next? I hate liars.

Went out this morning for a ride. It's funny what you see. I had just left the house and saw this Balloon coming towards me and started to land.. It was great. I ended up with 44.50 Miles with a 13.6 mph average.

Looks like i am about 250 miles behind Ward now-I cant wait to hear how his ride was last week. I make up that deficit this coming Friday on my 400k brevet..lol

Yesterday morning out for a 57 mile ride on the trike. Had planned on a metric but after having a flat and taking my time changing it, we shortened her up. Only real fun came after about 28 miles with a short hill approaching a small group of 6 or 7 riders came up behind us. I kicked it up the hill and we didn't let them pass. Slightly over 15 mph moving speed with just over 2000 feet elevation gain. It was real hot!

I wanted to see just how much stronger I was after my BikeVa ride so I took the dragon out for a spin this morning. I chose the same metric route I rode just two weeks ago. My average speed that day was 19.7 with very little wind and conditions were almost identical, so off I went.

Started off fast as I left the north marina, four miles later I was in the middle of downtown Columbus. The route changed slightly as several entrances to the Riverwalk were closed off. This forced me down an old street paved with brick for about 4 blocks. That slowed me down a bit but certainly woke me up. :yes9:

The ride went fast. I saw a few other groups of riders but only passed one as I came back into town. I was lucky and made both lights green in town then it was back to the Honda with my fastest metric of the year.

62.14 miles in 3:03:38 with a moving speed of 20.3 mph. I was off the bike for about 1 minute.

The BikeVa write is coming I promise. I'm having photo issue's. They are too big to insert here and I havn't found a good way to reduce them (any ideas). Also, webshots lost all of the pictures I have put on there over the last three of four years.
