Buddy, I was very lazy and didn't take any pictures. I have a difficult time manipulating a camera/phone with gloves on but I will work on it.

    Stupid ride today

I took my car to Leesburg to get an oil change and the W&OD trail is right next to the dealership. I was like whooot whoot!!!! I am taking my bike and ride it while the car is in the shop.

Well stupid me didn't realize that the snow did not melt all the way in Leesburg, like it did around here. So I peddle to the start of the trail and WOW it was all snow covered.. I was like what the **** I got a few hours to burn so off I went. It is very interesting to ride a V-Rex on a snow covered trail. There were little spots here and there that were bare but for the most part it looked like the pictures below. It took me an hour to go 7.9 miles. I got a ways out and I said screw this and turned around. I never wrecked but I did bend my front Idler. I almost went down and I think I kicked the top off the chain UNDER the front Idler and when I peddled it bent up..ARRRRRGGGGG..So much for a stupid day of riding...but it was fun! I did get a lesson of slippery Bent handling out of it..lol I got proof and pics just for Buddy..lol

Its funny looking at the GPS I can tell exactly where I almost ran off the trail!

Well, I'm very impressed. Now I have enthusiasm, and I also
have real old bones and a strong urge to want to live and do
some more stuff. I really want to believe you and even gullible
a lot, I just don't see any feet on the pedals or even hands
on the handlebars. Please call me a doubting old fool. Now
I would do that with one more wheel in under myself. I hope
to maybe see you up there in VA, and when you see me staring
at you, you will know I'm trying to see if your elevator is
going to the top. As Gomer Pyle would say...I've seen some
    dumb tricks....................

    BTW, the pictures are nice.

Better Ride than Yesterday. Started of as a club ride I hung back with some slower riders at the start. The racers took off and were out of site in minute. I finally got warmed up enough to start pushing and let the others behind in an attempt to catch up, with faster riders but never did. 21.6 miles

Snow on the ground but none on the road as we headed out with the temp at 24 degrees. (the gatorade froze in the tubing of my Camelbak). Just over 20 miles out with rolling hills all the way good for 1100 feet of climbing. We stopped at the McDonald's in Manchester, Ga to let our toes thaw out. I used the hand dryer in the restroom to dry the sweat out of my shirts.

Back on the road we had some tailwind picking up which was nice but the hills took their toll and I was pretty done by the time we called it a day. 3 hours 8 minutes for 43 miles with just over 2200 feet of elevation. The second picture shows one of the nice climbs. Liner is almost invisible just coming around the curve and you can see hunks of snow on the shaded side of the road.

    most recent ride

Buddy and i took a short ride on one of Ktowns greenways saturday. Somewhere around 5 or 6 miles. His GPS said 5 something, but both our cateyes said 6. turned out to be a pretty good ride.
Of course any time you get to ride with Buddy, is a good ride. But trying to navigate the snow and ice covered hills was quite funny in and of itself.
Then went to the meet and greet,(my primary reason for going), met some nice and very interesting folks.
Returned to Dandridge about 12:30 am and like most days i ride; i was still so pumped i could not shut down. So i pulled the bike back out and rode to Maury Middle School and did 32 laps around the track. Finally crashed (sleep) about 3:48 and woke up at 7:56 just 4 minutes before the alarm. Made for a long but enjoyable day.........:jiggy9:
