Two small portions of Goose down over/near the mic holes. I'm getting close to being satisfied. These small cameras place their mics where there is not much room for R&D.

    Lots of rides going around!

I only just got around to blogging my most recent (March 23). Old ground, but I still took pictures thanks to the snowy landscape and finding a rune stone at a place I've cycled past dozens and dozens of times. Teaches me to get off the trike and look around even in the old places. :tongue9:

That last ride, though it was shorter than the previous one, Loke laid out flat as a rug for TWO DAYS. He only moved to eat, drink and when we bullied him outside for walks to do his business. I wasn't too worried though since the day before the ride he'd gotten his vaccinations.

The ride is now blogged. It was a quiet ride. No exciting moments of skidding sideways down icy hills toward unsuspecting pedestrians. :jiggy9:

    Enjoy!

Me, I'm pulling on lots of thermals and going out in below freezing temps for another ride on NEW GROUND! :yes9:

Returned last night from 8-day 5-state road trip Georgia-west Florida coast-Key West- east Florida coast- South Carolina- North Carolina. Untold hundreds of cycles in Florida. Saw one recumbent, a Catrike, in 2500 miles. Sad.

Dave, that sounds like it would really be a great trip, especially at this time of the year.

Completed my 2nd 200k of the year in and around Urbana Maryland.. I did it at pretty much the same speed as the last one. 11.3 MPH. This one had a lot more climbing -8300 ft. I did stop a lot more on this one anbd did not finish last which is all that matters..lol

    128 miles- 13 hrs total-11:30 riding time.

I hooked up with a great dude from New Jersey, He was on a mountain bike with knobby tires and I had a hellava time keeping up with him. He was training for PBP this year.

    Beautiful country and battlefields.

50+ riders were there and I was the only recumbent

One of my buddies description of the ride:

"I lost track of the number of hills with 10% grades--had to be a dozen. And I was dreading the final two climbs, but I did alright on them. Even the first climb was hard but not harder than Skyline Drive. I rode from Thurmont to the end with a guy with a similar pace, but slower on uphills than me. I descend fairly cautiously if I don't know the terrain. So we leap-froged each other on ups and downs and cruised together of the flats. Generally it was the two of us alone. Even with 50 plus riders we only saw others at the controls and a tandem couple who we leap-froged from Antietam. If there is one lesson I've learned on rando rides--no one feels obligated to stick with whomever they are currently riding with. It is definitely a ride your own ride event. That can make it easy to connect up with a group and then leave them if they are not compatible.
I finished at six o-clock--eleven hours, though my actual ride time was 9:39:46. I hit the century mark at 7 hours 20 minutes."

Dave it does sound nice. What was the ride name. This is assuming it was an organized ride.

Okay, riding today was fun... in a cold, miserable way. :jiggy9:

I don't care that every weather and thermometer I looked at said it was almost 40 F. No way. I was colder than days where I've gone riding below 30 F. My face and eyes hurt.

Loke was a life saver for about 3 miles of the ride. He did an awesome job getting me over huge stretches of road covered with polished, hard ice. If I lost momentum, I couldn't get going again without trying to drag the trike to the next patch of clear ground. Quite a trick on a surface like oiled glass while wearing cycle shoes. :eek9: I finally got the trick of it though it was far from easy. A matter of low gears, high cadence and a husky who suddenly understood he really needed to pull.

Normally, Loke barely drags me at all. He just keeps up. Not along that part of the ride. He was ALL husky. He was critical to keeping me moving when I had hills to climb. He was my hero! :yes9:

The ride is blogged already, with photos.

Wasn't a ride. It was a 2500 mile drive. Now I've gotta start riding again to get rid of the weight put on while eating our way around the state of Florida.

Congrats Brian, whats your next goal.

Terii, I'm very lucky to have the mountain so close, not much of a mountain with the highest point only about 1400 feet. I really liked the early morning fog, makes everything so serene. Our Runestones arn't nearly as cool as yours though :yes9:

I don't know at this point Ward, I am probably going to do another 200k in the middle of April before I tackle a 300k which is two weeks after that one. I am worried about a 300k. I do not wan to jump to a bigger ride and not be ready.
