    Here's a shot of it.

Tim was a big help when I was considering getting one. Yeah Tim...3 years!...time flies. It's number three I think. The Pinion and disc brakes makes changing the configuration a breeze. Swap out wheels and seat, retune shifting and brakes, tweak fit...done. Having Paul Klampers makes the brake adjust easy.

Davis' recommendation for larger chain rings is good. I discovered the chain/stay interferance when building out mine. Glad you were able to bypass the need to return rings that didn't fit. Theoretically, it's also a tiny bit more efficient since the chain doesn't have to continuously go around a small ring.

Mine is a custom. Being average size I chose to remove 4 or 6 inches from the length. It's a sweet ride. Darn! I have to go to work. All this talk and looking out the window at a beautiful morning makes me want to take it out for a ride.

    Smith Roadie,

The slant of the tube shouldn't play a part unless the geometry the SXP limits the seat angle somehow.

Slipping out of the seat should be related only to a few things - seat design, seat angle, Bottom Bracket height relative to the seat and maybe handlebar position.

IMHO, the Stratus, and XP too, the seat angle was just wrong. Tilting the base down like they did virtually guaranteed the rider would slip forward. I saw lots of owners use various grip layers, such as what you put under carpet runners. I would have fixed the seat rather than put up with that!

I really liked the SXP. It was a cushy ride. But the Ti-Glide is a better bike for a lot of reasons.

How heavy is that pinion gearbox? What are its advantages over an internally geared hub?

I have to say, I never seriously considered a LWB before, but these ti-glides are something to look at.......

I'm not sure of the weight off the top of my head, but I'll try to look it up for you when I have a chance. I do know that it's heavier than a Rohloff set up. The 18, which is the one I went with, has more of a gear range and closer gears than a rohloff. It takes less routine maintenance than a derailleur set up since you only need to change the oil once a year.

One of the main reasons I went with the pinion over the rohloff is that you can easily swap between wheels since all you need is a standard wheel with a single cog.
