Nice rides there, Jon-boy. I've read about the Blackwater Heritage Trail and have been all around it but never been there. Looks to be nice!

Nice ride report, and sounds like you did some heavy-duty wind riding. I read that wind is a constant issue for cyclists in Florida.

Rode 18 miles today. Beautiful weather. Instead of talking about it, here is a picture I took with my new cell phone at my half way point on this ride. There is a nice bench here, no one is every here, and I can overlook the Tennessee River. Ahhhh......

Re: My Most Recent Ride - 2010

Last Sunday I had a beautiful ride starting at Coulter Bridge and going up
to townsend. Went to the end of the bike trail and came back.
Could not of been better weather.

I was trying to hook up with Bills group ride but took a wrong turn (went the back way) and got there too late. It also took me longer to drive there then I thought. I did not respond until late the night before and I think they changed the start point.

Turns out missing them was fortunate because I had some stomach upset and had to go find some facilities. If I would of been there on time I would of been 20-30 minutes on a ride with no facilites in site.

As it was I had a totally enjoyable ride with no bad incidents (dogs or out of control car drivers) . I took my time and the weather could not of been better.

I saw plenty of bikes on the road and saw one recumbent rider in passing.
Not sure who it was as I do not think they saw me.

Looking forward to doing several rides coming up including
    tour de plains
    tour de blount
and perhaps the jack to back ms ride (still mulling it over).

Jon, that was a good report.

On the other hand, what is all that green stuff in that picture? It is too early for leafs on trees so I don't know what it is. lol Oh well, it will turn green here before too long. We're still having freezing nights but it is supposed to warm back up some. The bad part is the wind. It has been windy for way over a week and more 30 mph wind expected today. I think I'm going to put the fairing on today but probably won't ride unless the wind goes down a bit towards evening.

I rode both saturday and sunday and the weather could not of been better.
Nice warm temperatures, extra blue sky and low wind.
Yesterday i rode downtown from my house about 6 miles one way.
Went to the knox revolution bike meeting. Then I rode back. Pretty easy going ride but I had a few unexpected detours due to construction.
Traffic was not bad and that sky was just beautiful.

Today I went riding in south knox county. Spent two hours riding and every moment was splendid. The hills on this ride kick my butt every time but there is plenty of downhill too for rests. Loved every minute of it.

Hope everyone got out in this pretty weather.

Sounds like you're having a nice time, Sally!

The weather here has been gorgeous the last two days. Yesterday I didn't get a ride in, but I did today.

    As always, blogged at www.terii.wordpress.com.

Was a lazy sort of ride, but it got Loke and I out moving. I'm really champing at the bit to do more than my close to home loops though! :jiggy9:

    Drat it!

I was going to ride again today (training up for a tour), but less than an hour after my ride yesterday, my throat started bothering me. Today, it's like I gargled battery acid and I'm sneezing. Second cold in less than a month.:hissyfit9:

What happened to the days when I didn't get colds?? I went 5 years without so much as a sniffle when people around me were getting every nasty bug that went around! :rolleyes9:

perfect weather here, 38.48 miles in 1 hour 52 minutes for a 20.6 mph
    A personal best for me.

The long ride last weekend has really jumped my metabolism. I have been eating twice as much every day and I am actually still losing weight. Its pretty crazy. I think i'm going to go eat some BBQ :Eat:

An animal lover and turns right around and eats dead animals? Go figure.

One may choose to eat anything but not the consequences. No dead
animals here. A dead animal's cholesterol is oxidized. The human body
sees it as injured and puts it on the walls of the blood vessels, arteries.

That's the reason mother's milk is good for the baby when the baby gets it directly from the mother. No oxidatiion takes place that way.
