    BTW Ward,

GREAT REPORT!!!! If I come down your way to ride, you have to promise to tie a boat anchor on the back of your bent just so I can keep up with you!!!

You said it before, you have "Greyhound brain" and after that last report, I agree with you!!

Dam Ward, wht's your hurray. You need to go up to Clarksville and ride
    with the three hour boys.

That is the one that lost me two good friends, but hello, I replaced them
with older more mature friends. They didn't like me taking my time and
finishing at dark. Slowed 'em down bi-gum. They did it last year and no
one to slow 'em down and they 'bout killed their fool selves.

Oh well, friends come and friends go. If I have to do a 5 hour century to
have friends, my friends days are all gone, and you know what, I don't
give a big crap. My life experience tells me, it's not the time, it's the ride.

And boy do I have some good rides. It is real calm and peacefull when the
rush is gone. Now be honest, are the bragging rights really worth it?

Take good care of your body, you may need it later.

    Buddy,

I know what you are talking about but the Dragon is so seductively fast I can't control myself while riding her. The Weisel on the other hand is perfectly suited to nice long slow rides. I like to push her on climbs to train but the rest of the time I just cruise. I probably ride the Weisel about 60% of the time now.

When I ride the Dragon with friends who like to ride more slowly I just do lots of doubling back. I will excuse myself for a minute and attack a hill or chase down a roadie then return when the spell has passed. They are understanding of my affliction and don't begrudge me those moments of weakness.

Ward, I can't keep up with you but I did manage a 20 mile ride today. It is pretty windy with 22-30 mph wind but at least it is relatively warm. It is supposed to be even warmer the next 2 days so I do plan on riding more. It sure seems good too.

Ward, you are just down right scary sometimes... in a good way. ;)

Pokey me and Loke got out for a ride today. I'd planned to take one yesterday, but my MIL came over to do spring cleaning in the living room and ended up trapping my trike under it's table/garage in the kitchen. I have to say, that woman is a force of nature. Sweet as can be, but once she gets into a cleaning frenzy, the best thing to do is get out of the way or you'll find yourself scrubbed down, waxed to a high shine and ironed out. :tongue9: She does things like this for me from time to time because she knows my back keeps me from some of the harder things like mopping or vacuuming every nook and cranny.

But, today was a nicer day for a ride any way. A couple of degrees warmer, the SUN out more and less wind. Since we were supposed to go to my in-laws for lunch, I decided Loke and I would take one of my loops and cycle there. It was a nice ride and I'll get it blogged soon. :yes9:

    Just 11 miles though.

Re: My Most Recent Ride - 2010

11 miles is a great ride early in the season if you have been snowed in. I have been extremely fortunate this year that I was able to ride so much during the winter. Glad you were and Loke were able to get out and enjoy the day.

My last ride, I made it about 5 miles before having a flat Darndest thing, I had switched all of my stuff to my good bag for the century ride but had put my old bag back on the bike today. Oh well, I only had to walk back about 1.5 miles where a friend picked me up.

11 miles that truly is great ecspeically ifen your were snowed in all winter or didn't have any wheels all winter. Don't know when I'm doing my first real ride of the season mostly will stick close to home until I feel like I can really get back on the trike and ride.

Yes, 11 miles for first ride of the season is not bad.

I did another 24 miles today as I had an appointment in town so rode the bike. It was fun going in but a bit tough coming home into a 30 mph headwind. We've had this wind for a week now and no letup in sight yet! But, more normal temperatures expected so that means it is going to get cold again. But, it won't be long before we're riding regularly again...I hope.

    Woooh! 18.9 miles today! :jiggy9:

It warmed up, the sun was shining and I desperately wanted to get out as did Loke. I also got the mounting for my new Garmin Edge set. It's still a bit strange not having it on my arm and I had little flares of panic every time I'd lift my wrist to look at our speed. :rolleyes9:

It was a nice ride, the first loop I ever did actually. Out to an old country church before zigging my way back past the grave mounds close to home. It got a bit cold those last 7 miles or so.

Well done report, Jon. It takes a lot of time and creativity to do these reports. Beach riding can be fun when the wind is at your back, but it's a real pain in the other direction. Like your "Florida mountains" analogy.
