Unfortunately, my knees react badly both to amount of force AND speed, so my cadence is restricted as well.

That said, my knee problems flare up on their own with no relation to cycling or my weight. Some of the worst episodes happened I weighed 120 pounds and hadn't touched a bike in over a year. I couldn't managed stairs and sitting down was more of a matter of falling back and trying to keep my legs straight. At least I'm not THAT bad again :tongue9: . I can still managed the stairs to get in and out of the building right now.

So, for now, I pedal slowly and lightly. Better than nothing. :smile9:

I'm not a trike guy, but wouldn't it be easier to turn it backwards and pull it by holding the rear wheel or rack?

Buddy brought his Catrike Pocket to my house yesterday. At 29 pounds total, picking it up by the bar behind the seat was not only convenient, but surprisingly lightweight. And it pulled behind as I walked just like a wagon. Maybe the exception rather than the rule.

Actually, I think I've come up with a solution to the 'moving the trike when I'm not on it' problem. A piece of PVC piping about 1' long that can fit over the grip of one of my steering arms. I already try to use my rear view mirror to do it, but it's about 6" too low, but it showed me that I can guide the trike just fine if I had something with a little more height. :biggrin9: It will fit just fine in my pannier bags that go with me on every little ride.

Speaking of rides! I rode today. A bit of a new route pieced together from a few of my more established ones. Some of the ground is newer to my trike and it totalled 17 miles. Took it nice and slow. No pictures this time.

It doesn't have to go straight ahead if you PULL it behind you?

Often see small elastic cords or rubber bands squeezing the levers closed, then slip them down the grips out of the way to go again. Important to keep the trike stationary when getting in or out.

Could be I have a different type of steering? I donnot recal what type either of our bikes have but maybe the Greenspeed being the gold standard has a better set up. :jiggy9:

Buddy can elaborate, but apparently the Ackerman steering has a lot to do with it.

Never had a problem pushing or pulling. Normally lift rear by the rack and it
follows right along. Haven't had to, but can pick the Pocket up and carry it.
It's a full 12 pounds lighter than the GT3. That's what makes it nice for us little people to load it in a van or car.

Ackerman or direct steering can be pulled about the same. May need to
tighten the steering a bit, or carry a stabalizing strap. This would be a good time to make sure a brake is not dragging.

Of course i only get off it to move it anywhere when the sand ,dirt ,or gravel is to deep, or the mountain is to steep, and that only happens when i am pulling my loaded trailer. Which is about 98% of the time to date......:jiggy9:

My recent ride is kinda poor for me only to and from church now. Trying to get up the gumption to do a young's, yellow springs and Xenia run. Know I must get off my arse and train.

Our club's annual 100,000 Meter T-Shirt Ride will be this Saturday. In a novelty move for this year, the weatherman has predicted this weekend will be dry. I'll try to take pics. I've done it a couple dozen times, but never wrote up a ride report on it; this year should be the year!

This morning, I beat the rain.
    Almost.
The skies opened up on me for the last mile...
once again reminding me why this sort of wet weather
    is called a, "shower".

The wind that preceded the shower was a lot of fun!
With the wind at my back, I flew uphill at an average speed
    of 18MPH.
This on a hill where I usually cannot maintain 15MPH.

    Fun!
    :smile9:
