Nice photo of A.D.! If I hadn't seen this, I very well may not have remembered what A.D. looks like... its been so long. Love the colors...

I can only imagine that a tornado put the truck in the trees??? Like the bird though, great still shot.

If A.D.'s like many of us, he doesn't look quite the same as 12 years ago. I don't know how old his avatar is, so maybe we should all update our pix, just in case we ever pass on the trail and wouldn't otherwise recognize each other. This one is also from 2005 when the group used Jon's place as Base of Operations for a day. DSCN0368 edit red.jpg

That's cool. Don't see many 2 wheel recumbents these days.

I recognize Dave & MJ, AD & Jo(whom I haven't seen in years),don't know the guy next to her, then there's Buddy who doesn't post much any more, then the next two I recognize but can't remember their names(If i remember right, he's a nutritionist and she is a doctor) then there is Jon....who's always tall.:jiggy9:

[Added by Jon - Guy with white shirt and blue hat is Terry Wells. To his right is Mike Lundy and his wife (forgot her name but she is a doctor).] Her name is Laurie I do believe. I think they moved to OK.???

Dave(66bent), I guess as people age, they don't want to take the risk of falling or having a bad wreck. I love 2 wheel bents, always have. I will ride one as long as I can until I can't ride any more. By then, I probably won't be riding a bent of any kind...

We drove the 20 min or so to the visitor center at the base of the tower. We had maybe 5 minutes to look & shoot a few frames when the Rangers practically shoved everybody into the building. Power went out, but on the radios they said a funnel cloud was within several hundred yards of us, moving away. I have never seen such rain and wind. After, the ground was pure white with an inch or more hail. Rangers took off on 4 wheelers to check on some hikers that got caught in it on the base trail. The Tower at 867 ft high didn't seem any worse for wear than it has for the past 40 million years. Can't say the same for the visitor center or some cars.

That can be crazy for sure. I had a similar experience back in '75. Crazy wild torrential wind and rain....the noise was incredible. The tornado passed so close...but we were in an underground cellar....still creepy.
