Back on the bike post my little operation and upgrades to the LoGo P-38. I had hoped to get an easy 25 km in (my daily minimum) but the stupid mechanic (read me) forgot to re-index the rear derailleur after sorting out the front derailleur and all was not good as in only lower five gears available so decided that was not much fun and aborted my ride and only rode for 8.5 km.

All sorted now and should be back fully commuting on Wednesday I hope :)

Oh the new derailleur is a SRAM X9 which is changing sweet at least :)

Trikes are fun. But I like two wheels better. I get more speed from these tired old legs. It gives me a chance to keep up with these younger DF riders! But even a better bike won't help for long.

I just enjoy being outside and enjoying the day. But lately this weather has been CRAP!!!! So no riding.

Just looked at the forecast for Arkansas. Looks like I will be riding my RANS Enduro this weekend. I have some catching up to do. I will be oiling the chain, kicking the tires, wiping the dust off the frame tonight so I will be ready. Tired of the gym and the treadmill, I am ready to roll.

Back commuting this morning to the office ... 43 kilometres of 30 km/h side winds and headwinds ... nice way to start the day :)

Oh I did get to check out the Queen Mary II :)

Tough commute home this afternoon; 42 km into 30 km/h headwinds and the temp was around 30 C. Legs didn't like it at all.

Oh nearly got cleaned up on a Regional Shared Path by a roadie cutting a corner at speed. Waiting for the video to load but pretty sure he seriously locked up the front wheel.

I have now uploaded the video of my incident with the cyclist. This really got up my nose as this is a popular shared path and someone could easily get hurt by this sort of riding. There is a suitable road quite okay for this fast riding ... heck I rode it in the morning as I was going much faster. Not hard at all.

    Regards

Dang dude! Think he was in a hurry? Was he trying to pass the other guy and simply stayed in the lane too long?

Maybe he is visiting from somewhere else and forgot he was supposed to be in the 'other' lane!

May have passed the other dude coming into the corner ... either way, way to fast for this path. If he wants to go fast, hit the road. I ride the road most mornings as I am generally to fast for the path and the path in the evenings due to the headwind.

Uneventful commute to work this morning … still not really commuter fit but following my little operation a couple of weeks ago. 44 km with a 35 km/h crosswind/headwind. Ah well the joys of riding in Perth I guess.

I rode my last commute for the week down the coast as usual yesterday afternoon, Joondalup to Fremantle, but the wind gusting up to 40 km/h really did me in. I have a long way to go to get my legs back to coping with this daily grind.

A little 7 km ride today down town to visit Officeworks to pick up a 3TB hard drive for $139. Nice buy I think :)

Town was bubbling along nicely. People out enjoying the sunny weather on Valentines Day.
