I am back commuting which is a great feeling, more so that I am now putting the e-assisted Bacchetta Giro 20 ATT through its paces. My time this morning was 1:30 hours into a 15 knot easterly over 42 km. This is a good 15 to 20 minutes quicker that I was doing earlier in the year.

Anyway no exciting video or pictures from the commute but got out a few days ago to play on a problem "shared use path" ... This is the video from that visit to the sand pit.

So now I see why your mileage is increasing so fast on Bike Journal. You are below me right now, but I bet you fly by soon!!!

BTW do you know you are riding on the "wrong" side of the bikeway (left). :wideeyed:

Here is what I found out. In days of old, logic dictated that when people passed each other on the road they should be in the best possible position to use their sword to protect themselves. As most people are right handed they therefore keep to their left. This practice was formalized in a Papal Edict by Pope Benefice around 1300AD who told all his pilgrims to keep to the left.

Andrew, I have problems with wandering / meandering earphone wearing people, and dog walkers that dont care . . . . . but fortunately for me I never had to deal with car completely blocking my way.!

My Trike is still off the ..... Cycle Track, so I reluctantly dragged out the old Mountain Bike.
Wow it was easy going up the first few hills. :smile9:
Going up and down the ramps from cycle way to road crossing was so much quicker , easier and softer.
Just couldnt get a good continuous pace on level and downhill like on Trike.
After 20 mins started getting the sore Bot.
at 1 Hour my posterior was completely numb but the problem that really stressed me was the tingly fingers.! This rotten thing had flared up my Carpel Tunnel
[ thats pinched nerves in the wrist area that makes nerve pain down in the thumb and fingers. ]
By 1.5 hours [ nearly at work ] I was very sore, trying to stand on pedals or sit side saddle, fingers burning - I was working out whether I could leave Bike at work and catch train home...
The trip took 15 mins longer than usual easy ride in on Trike. I went up the hills much quicker [ lots of hills on my trip to work ] just could not keep up speed on the flats.
Hope to be back on 3 wheels soon.

Fascinating! I love informational tidbits like that! :yes9:

Took the trike to the shop yesterday to get the brake pads replaced and also asked to get the gears re-tweaked. They've been manageable, but if it was already at the shop no reason they can't be adjusted to be 'great'. Really nice American did the work again. He was a little distracted at times, but he's going through a very rough patch, so it's understandable.

The trike was done VERY quickly! I was expecting to be kicking around until about 4 pm or the like, but the call came to come get it in less than an hour. I'd barely had time to drive to the lake and do a walk with Loke.

Went out for a ride this morning. Everything is perfect again. I'm going to be very careful about shifting to the 3rd chainring while on the 34 rear. I think that's what maladjusts the gears.

Roughly 4 miles. Just too wet to want to pedal around in 45 F. Heavy gray skies and gusty winds. Bleach. Haven't seen the SUN in WEEKS. Not more than a watery brightness through the clouds any way. Oh for at least one day of blue skies and unfettered sun.

Couple of 44 mile rides this weekend, weather is still pretty good here in UK staying dry and not too cold. It was sort of an Olympic themed weekend, on Saturday took the B2 and cycled through central London and out for lunch at the Olympic Park in Stratford. Then today took my ICE trike out, primarily to take to a friends to get some shorter cranks fitted, ended up having to change Bottom Bracket and the front mech as well, then off for a short ride out to Windsor and around the Olympic Rowing Lakes at Dorney.

As a reward for all the hard worked, stopped off at a pub on the way back for Burger and Fries, followed by a giant Apple Crumble and Custard, not sure I'll have burnt off any calories today !

I'm back in recumbent cycling heaven. Got up and on the road by 7:45 am this morning in Pensacola Florida. Rode 30 miles on Hwy 399 which goes through Gulf Islands National Seashore. Just gorgeous!!!

This is off season so not much traffic at all which means I had the road pretty much to myself. High 60s and no wind. Going to ride 3 times a week if the weather holds out for the next two weeks.

And for Buddy, see if this link works which proves I rode here.

Good to be back on 3 Wheels again, my joy was diminished due to the gear issues. Waiting on parts to fix the Gears.
There are more Cyclists commuting now as the weather is getting warmer and Petrol [ Gasoline ] prices are rising.

All is happy and well with my trike now that the gears are perfect and the brakes work again!

Went out for a ride today, just 6.5-ish miles. GAWD but I'm soooooo incredibly bored with riding around here. It's feels like running or walking on a treadmill with the same episode of a show playing over and over and over. Desperate for something new to see.

There was blue sky for a few minutes today. Even about 5 minutes of sunshine! It's been WEEKS since there's been any sun.

12.1 miles... under mostly blue skies and with sun! :o_O9:

Woke around 5 am and within 20 minutes, a migraine started to move in. Flashes of gray in the middle of my Vision, nausea, and light-sensitivity. Once Jens got up, I went straight back to bed and pulled the covers over my head as the pain began.

I woke about 3 hours later feeling somewhat improved and found sunshine, bright and glorious, outside the bedroom window. Though I could feel the headache threatening to resurge, I got myself dressed and out we went.

It was so pretty, I decided I absolutely had to do more than the River Loop, so off we went on the Läby Loop. There was no way I was going to waste the first pretty day we've had in 3 weeks or longer with a measly 5-6 miles.

Feeling pretty chilled at the moment. There was still frost in some of the shadier spots and I was a little under-dressed for 39 F. I'll end up riding again later this evening once Jens gets home. My knees are bothering me so I don't feel up to walking back home from the garage. I'll ride the trike back there once the hubby gets home so he can give me a ride back.

Got to ride from Down town Pensacola Beach to Navarre Beach to the little gas station there at the corner and back to Pensacola Beach a couple times while we were staying at Fort Pickens Campground during the first week of Octover. Loved it. Stopped at Opal beach and walked along the shoreline a ways.
