Fantastic Recumbent tandem Trike, less than 2 years old. Great for touring - we cycled 900 trouble free km last summer and had a great time!

There were times on the trip where people offered us free places to stay (including a fancy hotel on one occasion!), bought us breakfast, stopped to chat… all because its such an unusual machine. We met so many people and had great experiences!

Folding up is really useful - we caught the greyhound with the folded up trike in the hold on our way to Nelson, BC. It would be great to keep the trike for future adventures however since we’re now working here there won’t be opportunities for big trips again for a while… so the bike is up for sale.

The trike was built by modifying a TW Bents Trident frame.
I'm a proffessional mechanical designer in the automotive industry.
I designed the extra section of the frame using 3D CAD software before fabricating it in steel tubing.

The trident trike is a folding design and has a hinged joint in the frame which is located under the seat. I designed a new extra section of frame, 1.5m long, which bolts in-between the front and rear sections of the Trident frame… basically extending the frame to make it a tandem! So the centre section of the frame is new whilst the front and rear parts are straight from the Trident. The hinged joints are retained, so the trike still folds, or can even be taken apart and fitted into a large bike box for transportation.

The basic TW Trident it was based on can be found here:
    http://www.twbents.com.tw/HTM/trident.htm

    The tandem trike features:
    • New rear wheel – 48 spoke super strong Halo 26” disk wheel, see link below:
    http://www.halorims.com/products-det...6&type=mtb&c=X
    • New centre frame section built from oversized steel tubing, retaining existing hinged joints.
    • Stoker Bottom Bracket is adjustable to accommodate riders with different leg lengths.
    • Extra seat bought from T bents stockist. The frame is covered with nylon webbing, which has worked great
    • Also included: cycle computer, rear rack with good waterproof pannier, new spare front tyres, spare tubes, 1 x spare chain, spare cables… & various other spares.
    • Trailer included in sale too if buyer collects or pays shipping!

    Offers around $3000.
    Thanks for looking!
