This seems to be exactly the same type of design of the side by side tandem ppv that we gave away several months back. Just sleeker and without a fairing.

We bought one of these things and love it very much. We've done over 1000 miles on ours. I'm so impressed with it that I created a Ricksycle FAQ if you're interested in learn more about it:

    Rob,
Thanxx for taking the time/effort to create the FAQ about this cycle. Since first seeing it it's somewhat intrigued me, and now I have somewhere to go and learn a bit more about them!

    Rob,
Assuming the pedals bolt onto the 'S' pedal-bar like normal pedals do, one should be able to install any pair of clipless pedals on it.

I would suggest you try a pair sometime, since in only pushing the pedals (i.e. 'mashing') you're just using about two-thirds of your strength. Pulling back & up on the pedals takes a little practice, but trading off which muscles you're using for just a few revolutions can make a difference on longer rides.
