This is a super fast lowracer with Ti-Rotorcranks for $2000. If my wife wouldn't kill me I would buy it.:hissyfit9: The rotors go for $900 new by themselves.

I wouldn't know how to go that fast anyway! I would need to wear brown pants because I scare myself when I go over 30 MPH :eek9: and that bent looks like it could EASILY do that! :yes9:

Jon, you should have been with me one day. We were Yoopers and taking a vacation. Naturally I took the bike. Found a nice shortcut one day. Riding uphill was pretty normal but suddenly when I topped the hill, I found myself on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Fantastic sight I might add.

Anyway, that road down looked steep but I was all go. Had about 50 miles in so far so I was warmed up for sure. Man, I didn't even pedal at the start but the speedometer went over 50mph! My memory isn't the greatest anymore but I'm thinking it was 54 mph.

The next day we drove into town for some groceries and I showed my wife the road and she about crapped! Well, the road did have a stop sign where it meets US-2 not too far after the bottom of the hill. On top of that, there is a ski hill there too, but I don't have a mountain bike. Anyway, my wife was okay until she saw that stop sign!

Oh MAN! Now that's right up my alley! ha, ha Going down the steepest hill I've found close to my house will net me 49.5mph...peddling as hard/fast as I can. I know that, because I've done it several times and the outcome never quite makes 50mph. :hissyfit9: Oh well, I figure one of these days, I'll be a little stronger and finally top 50. You'd figure with my little (weighty :rolf2:) spare-tire I carry around it'd help out under conditions such as these, but just not so. :sad9:

Well, that's about as close to 50 as you can get w/o hitting it. Does that give you a thrill or what?!!!!! Still, you can bet before I do something as thrilling as that is, I check the tires really good and also the brakes...then go!

I failed to mention there was a curve at the bottom of the hill before the stop sign. But really, there was plenty enough room to stop; it was just a bit much for my wife to imagine. So I'm nuts!

Yup, its a challenge Jester and you better believe that it will go faster than 30 mph. Probably on the flat. Jon, if you got on a fast bike you would be amazed how fast you would go. I tell DF riders all the time as I pass them that its the bike not me:yes9:

My V rex is faster than my Wiz Wheelz!! But reading Mike's and Buddy's summation of the Tour Easy, I think it is the PREMIER bent to own!!!

Like you said, design is important!!!!

You guys need to make sure that you always have your last "will & testament" current when you do stuff like that. I have only been to 47mph and that is MORE than enough for me. I had white nuckles so bad...I wasn't sure I could unlock my fingers from the handlbars.

With your torso being the most body mass exposed to frontal air flow...It may be difficult to reach 50mph without assistance. I don't know. I won't be trying it any time soon.

No white knuckles when going that fast. You are just riding the bike at that point and it would be pretty difficult to turn that handlebar if you wanted to. All you do is sit there and enjoy the thrill of the moment.

Now Jon, the Tour Easy is a nice bike and as you can tell by watching Buddy it is no slouch. But really, you hurt my new bikes feelings its not made out of steel :cryu: .

the speed champ of this group is Will Jorgensen at 62 mph. I was there when he did it on a fully faired Greenspeed flying down the Nantahala gorge.

I am questioning WHY I would want to do this anymore........It's a thrill, but not worth death. I will reserve these speeds for my sports car.

I am wondering what kind of speed I will hit though when I get my fully hard shell faired (including bubble canopy) Catrike built. I am going to pay some bucks to verify the drag co-efficient on it before I build it.

What site do I need to go to, to get additional info on the bike? (i.e. Year, condition, etc)
