1999 Longbikes Duplex asking $800. New price for a Longbikes Gulfstream, their current long wheelbase tandem, is over $5000, so this is a good price on a very comfortable, easy handling tandem.

It is located in San Jose, California. If local pickup is not possible, buyer pays for shipping.

The information attached is from an archived version of the Longbikes website. Note that this bike is black and has the optional disc brake and rear rack. The kick stand is one legged. The bike is in excellent condition with no rust and less than 2000 miles.

I’m interested in this. What is the current cassette lower range, as I live in the Rockies? Thanks.

The cassette is the original 9 speed 11-32, which I believe is 11-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32T. The small front chainring is now a 24 instead of a 30. (I will include the original chainrings.)

Sounds good for my needs. Would you be able to get standard shipping estimate to me at 84403 zip Ogden Ut. I willingly to have it go economy class. It is still too cold for my partner to get on a bike. Thanks in advance Steve.

Just thought of something, wondering if bike flights would be an option? Heard they have somewhat competitive? Just wondering.

Yet another option, I am probably going to be in your area on the 7-8th of April. I can get you payment up front, you are open to holding the bike until then?

Due to schedule changes I am able to get to your area on the 3rd of April, if that works better?

I am OK either way. I will let you know how much boxing and shipping would cost once the bike shop sends me a quote. Note that the bike is roughly 11 feet long, so it does not fit into most vehicles.

I realize the length as I have put upright tandems in my Subaru Outback, with both wheels removed. If I head up to Seattle first I will have a 20 ft long folding catamaran on a trailer when I get down to the Bay Area. Lots of space for a long frame-set to hang on.

I am going to leave this thread open until PLeCain has the bike, just in case you-all need this as an avenue for communication. However, I will mark it as SOLD in the thread title.

I have the bike here in Northern Utah (Ogden) I have been getting it set up for my use. Once the weather gets warmer Suzanne and I will give it a go. I live near a University campus sports complex, with parking lots are very empty of cars during weekends. Nice and flat smooth pavement to practice on. I’m planning on going there for the first 2X rider training rides.
