I've decided to sell my Luminous Yellow Dragon AKA a highly upgraded Catrike 700.

The following is my cost on each upgrade I did to the stock brand new 700 I bough about 2 years ago from Utah Trikes for $3950 + $200 shipping and add in the following:

Headlight has 2 solid beam settings: the high beam can trigger on coming traffic to flash their high beams at you as they are actually brighter than any factory car or truck lights that I've encountered.

There's 2 lower flashing beam settings that I generally use on all daylight rides. In the city where there are street lights unless there is a lot of potholes you can ride at speed in the flashing mode as it's bright enough and the flashes are close enough to see by.

In flash mode, you'll have about 17 hours battery time. In high beam: about 2 1/2 You can go to CatEyes site for more details on the burn time for the other modes.

T-Cycle aluminum headlight bracket on the front deraillear post. $53

The drive chain is VG Sport hollow outer plates brass plated for light weight and ultimate longevity $25 x 3 - $75

I've put about 2,000 miles on it. And chain wear tool shows zero stretch.

(I use White Lightening Racing chain lube on it every 5-600 miles after degreasing it off the trike with automotive brake parts cleaner. Chain has 3 Quick Links for easy and fast removal and reinstallation.)

Behind the front deraillear post is an aluminum extension with a carbon fiber cross tube that’s a perfect mount for the phone holder. The extension to buy is $17

The phone holder has built in vibration dampening $22
I'd used my phone as a ride computer and navigation unit along with music to my bone conduction Head Set of which I am keeping.

The phone holder is vibration free.

I have an iPhone cable running to it right now that goes down the boom tube and in between the seat webbing to the left under the seat pocket containing rectangular power bank that keep my phone and my helmet mounted Gear 360 Action Camera powered up from SUN up to sun down on all of my 130-150 mile a day adventures. Charging Cable $25

    Action Camera Charging Cable $25

On the Boom Tube water bottle bracket is mounted a GPS trackable Alarm System made by Knog model called the Scout. $60

Through an app on your phone you can arm or disarm it (This can be done at the unit also via an almost hidden button under its soft cover. The alarm can have an audible sound or be silent and can notify you via your phone by bluetooth if it's triggered with the alarm on or off. I mostly used it for when I rode my trike to the gym and parked - locked it near the front door or when I needed to go into a store when out on long hot rides to get more water.

Its internal battery is also rechargable via a plug in cable port on the side of the alarms body. I recharge it about every 3-4 months.

Both deraillears are stock SRAM Catrike 700 units except the rear has aluminum gold anodized ceramic bearing pulleys on it. $50

Jagwire - 2X Pro Universal Gear Shift Kit | for Road, MTN and Gravel | Compatible with SRAM and Shimano Gears, Polished Stainless Steel Cables $30

Jagwire PCK205 Pro Road Brake Cable Kit, SID Blue, Shimano/SRAM $38

The housing uses a similar approach in weaving a lot more strands of inner casing with a teflon liner to make shifting silky smooth and solid. I added in the Jagwire cable tension adjusters just below the steering handles to make it easy to make micro adjustments on the fly without having to get off the trike while riding or while stopped at a light if needed.

Most of the bolts throughout the trike have been replaced with anodized titanium bolts. $30

The chain tube was replaced with a T-Cycle bolt on pulley that cut a lot of drive train noise and friction.

Catrike Clamp-On Power Idler Kit $128

Neoprene neon yellow grips for the steering control handles. $8

Catrike brake levers with parking brake push buttons in both brake levers. $40.00

Brake rotors were upgraded to 203mm diameter stainless steel anodized producing a shimmering Rainbow effect around its entire diameter and down into the spokes of the disc and appropriate caliper adapters along with high temp, long lasting, yet plenty grippy brake pads. $36

    Brake Caliper Adapters $18

All 3 wheels have EZGainz aerodynamic wheel covers on them. $600

The combined effect of covering all 3 wheels worth of spokes and the air disruption of the outward facing front chainrings produces a rough increase of about 3-4 mph over you normal 15 mph power output. At your normal 20 mph power output you can achieve 25 and the benefits increase as your power output increases and or if you are on any kind of descent or slope.

In a head wind or a cross wind the shape of the wheel disc actually increases your speed over exposed spoked wheels. The mechanics of this effect work sort of like a sail boats sails and mask using the head wind to create negative pressure behind the sail while going into the wind to create forward propulsion.

The effects of severe side winds is minimal in regard to changing the trajectory of the trike. I do recommend maintaining both hands on the steering control handles in the event of a sudden gus from either side broadsided at speed. Going slow it would almost take tornado level wind to push the trike off the road.

Each wheel has its own opening on the inside facing the boom on the front wheels and on the non drive side on the rear wheel to access the valve stem. I'm including a ziplock of the makers decals to cover those valve stem opening for complete aerodynamics while riding.

All 3 tires and tubes are fresh and have about 150 miles on them.

I have a Youtube video on my channel an is here in this Catrike 700 group somewhere where I took this trike to 70 mph coming down Mt Baldy this past fall... And she performed beautifully and gracefully.

Under the seat on each side is a Fast Back System hydration zippered pack by T-Cycle that can each hold a 2 liter hydration bladder of which I have 2 brand new unused units to include with hoses. $254
    472002690_10226884304201005_1529975632570512723_n.jpg
(The tiny bungee you see above is normally stretched across and hooked to each bags zipper hole to hold them firmly under tension to keep them from making noise over bumps and to insure neither zipper ever comes down or open while in motion.)

Osprey Hydraulics LT 2.5L 85 oz each Backpack Water Reservoir with Bite Valve $42 x 2 = $84

If its cool enough to not need 4 liters of hydration on a ride you can leave 1 bladder at home and use that bag to store extra garments, food, spare tubes, pump and patches, etc.

The 2 rear lights are CatEye Vitz 450's which like the head lamp contains the maximum battery capacity size on the market for maximum burn time. $45 x 2  = $90.00
    471972975_10226884296160804_6739306334233098709_n.jpg
Like the head light the tail lights have 4 different modes of which I mostly used the normal flashing mode except for when I knew I was heading into heavy automotive traffic roads then I clicked them over to a mode that strongly resembles an ambulances lights which really confused approaching rear traffic causing most to slow way down and go way wide to get a good look at what the heck they have come upon.
    472003572_10226884304601015_3980542916785603274_n.jpg
I've had lots of drivers tell me at stop lights that they thought I was either some kind of new law enforcement stop in process or some kind of handicapped vehicle they needed to avoid close quarters with - and thats exactly what I sought to create in being proactively seen by approaching traffic.

Currently there is a 2nd charging cable from the under the seat power bank area that goes up to up behind my right shoulder that powers my Gear 360 Action Camera of which I am considering making available for an additional $100 including its 1 gig memory card, Memory Card Reader for your Laptop, PC or phone and protective cover and the helmet mount if the prospective new buyer is interested in such.

If you can find my posted YouTube videos on here you can see what kind of imagery it captures.

It can record continously for up to 17 hours with the 1 GB card installed and plugged into my power bank. Powerbank could be included for another $40. It has a flash light built into it.

The camera can take static pictures or just front or just behind video or front and back creating 360 coverage as seen on my channel.

One of the reasons I liked the camera is because of the "respect" it triggered as vehicles approaching from the rear realized their every move is being recorded in real time with sound!

The neon yellow reflective URL’s to my website are completely removable.

I'm including a complete set of Catrike aluminum black fenders that can be installed in minutes and removed and stored in nice weather seasons.

    Front Catrike Fender Set $225

Rear Planet Bike Cascadia ALX 700c Rear Fender - Black $49

I have the original stock Catrike 700 rear parking disc brake Rotor, caliper, cable and thumb shift activator if you want that also at no additional cost.

    Arkel Triangle Bags $200

ree extra or spare rear wheel (laced up rim, and hub with cassette body ready for a cog set and tire tube includes thru axle.

Includes the original stock Catrike 700 rear parking disc brake rotor caliper, cable and thumb shift activator if you want that also at no additional cost. Remember I swapped out the front brake levers for Catrike models that have spring loaded parking pins built into the lever already so a rear brake would be redundant and add more weight to the trike that must be hauled up any climbs you might take on.

I have a couple of other small bags I'll toss in that I ordered and never used but might be useful for you.

Every detail of this set up is built around creating more natural speed, lower maintenance, being seen well before reaching me, longevity and durability, and with my background in cycling product design and engineering- Lots of esthetically pleasing "Eye Ball" that's translates into solid functionality.

I'm also a former Bicycle Road Racing Team Mechanic so the trike is flawless and adjusted better than any brand spanking new trike you can buy from anywhere. It's never been crashed and has no paint chips anywhere.

Custom Neon Yellow Powder Coat: $300

Originally came factory gloss black with gray decals

If you add up all the figures above that other than the trike itself don’t include shipping cost you’ll see Im into this trike for $7680 on the low side

I'm willing to let her go for $3995 firm plus $200 shipping

    Shipping is not included.

I live in Southern California - in what's referred to regionally as "The Inland Empire" or specifically - Riverside.

I can disassemble the trike enough to fit it into 2 bike boxes sliced together to contain the main frame and most of what’s attached to it and a second bike box containing the wheels and the free extra rear wheel via insured UPS.

I should also mention this trike has been featured in several cycling and recumbent e-zines around the world. It's definitely a head Turner and you will get frequently approached by the curious wanting to know what it is and where can they test ride one.

This trike is obviously not for everyone.

Only someone who has a taste for the exotic, unique, fast and confidence inspiring.

First solid offer owns a Legendary Ride!
