If you have wanted a Lightning P-38 Voyager but haven't wanted to spend the $6000 for a new one, this is the bike for you! It was purchased in 2020 and used for touring and round about the city. Riding this recumbent means the 3 pressure points on a Diamond Frame (neck, hands, and seat) are all eliminated completely. Superb comfort and you get to sit pretty upright instead of being hunched over.

The Voyager is the coupled version of the Lightning P-38, which means it has 3 couplings to break it down in size for packing. It (almost) fits into a 24x24x12" case for travel. I can't quite fit the bottom part of the seat in the case, so I carry that separately.

So far I have been able to check the case as just another bag on my flights, even though it exceeds the Linear requirement of 60" by 2"s. I always take the bike on my journeys and enjoy the superior comfort of this recumbent.

I opted for the smaller 26" wheels so the tire fits easily into the case without having to remove the tire from the rim. The medium size with the smaller tire also means it fits on the bus rack well and so far on trains in Europe. I was even able to hang it in one instance.

As to shipping, I just checked with Bikeflights and shipping from Providence RI to San Francisco, as an example, and was quoted $70.39 without extra insurance. So, I can ship the bike either in the hard case ($200 for the case) or in a cardboard box. The seat would ship separately.
