Kansas City, MO — A bicyclist suffered critical injuries Monday morning in Kansas City, Missouri, when he was thrown from his bike after being hit by a van.

The accident happened about 9 a.m. at Northeast 81st Terrace and North Flagor Road, according to a KCPD news release.

A Honda Odyssey minivan turned from southbound North Flagor Road to go west on Northeast 81st Terrace, police said.

The van hit the recumbent bike, which was going east on Northeast 81st Terrace.

The crash ejected the man from his bike, and he landed on the shoulder of the road, police said.

He was last reported in critical but stable condition at a hospital.

The accident is under investigation.

Bicyclist injured after being hit by minivan in Kansas City WDAF FOX4 Kansas City

KANASAS CITY, Mo. — A bicyclist was critically injured Monday after being hit by a minivan, Kansas City police said.

Officers responded to the crash involving a vehicle and bicycle on Monday morning. A white Honda Odyssey minivan was traveling southbound on N. Flagor and turned to travel westbound on NE 81st Terrace.

A teal-colored recumbent bicycle was traveling eastbound on N.E. 81st Terrace. As the Honda driver made the turn, it hit the bicycle, knocking the bicyclist off the bicycle and onto the shoulder of the road.

The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital. They are in critical, but stable condition.

The driver of the Honda was not injured, and the incident is still under investigation.
