Barcroft Dakota (stretched short wheelbase) - This is the bomb. It is light weight, easy to transport, handles well in traffic, stable at high speed, and will let you ride fast and far with no aches.

I'm selling my Barcroft Dakota after many years to make room for new adventures. Lovingly cared for and in great shape. Setup for 5'8" rider.

$975 or best offer, includes seat bag, fenders, computer, mirror, incredibell, eggbeater pedals, etc. A fantastic bent ready to ride.

Images available upon request (forum won't let me link to them yet).

    ---
I was asked what's the difference between the Barcroft Dakota and Virginia GT?

The Virginia was slightly more optimized for speed by having a 2" lower seat hight. In order to achieve this, it required a custom compact front fork that would not accommodate some brakes or a fender (making it less suitable for touring on wet roads). The riding position was otherwise the same.

While I was tempted by the Virginia, I decided the Dakota was more practical for all around use. Both bikes are so low you can easily set your feet down.

    Can it be shipped?

I believe I could pack it up and ship for around $120. This would involve removing the seat and shipping it in a separate box; detaching the steering riser and securing it to the frame, and removing the front and rear wheels. In this configuration the bike should fit in a standard bike box (which is how I received it from Barcroft).

    Kind Regards,

    - Peter

As soon as I can cobble my $ together, I'd like to buy it. Had a Virginia until 2 years aha and made the mistake of selling it! A Dakota would be more useful now since it gives a much better tire selection. Know of anyone needing a BikeE CT? $350 delivered up to 150 miles. And, once I have my $ together, could we meet somewhere half way between us? I'm thinking either upstate NY or CT?
    I'll keep in touch.
