Kinda sad. As long as this forum's been around, and with so many (hundreds?) members, only 17 have any miles logged into the forum's link to BikeJournal for 2015. A few of those are probably not current and four are off-continent. I don't log individual rides, but do periodically enter "bulk rides" mileage just to show that I am doing a few miles/kilometers.

I think it's a good way to show that we're not all talk without action. One shouldn't be embarrassed by low mileage or make excuses. It's just one more way to connect with others. Even 1 mile logged shows that there's more rubber being left on the road, and it contributes to the Club's total mileage for the year.

I log mine in BJ and have since 2008, and am in or have been in several of their challenges. I talked to people and they just say they do not have time to mess with it.

It's too bad, nobody seems to be "joiners" anymore. There's a couple of lowracer riders in my area, but they just ride around on their own, no attempts at group rides that I'm aware of.

I log my miles by going directly into Bike Journal. RRI is listed as my club.
I am old and slow, but I have a great time on the trike!

    Hey Uncle Chuck,
I'm almost as old and probably as slow! :tongue9: Ditto on logging my miles, via BikeJournal…life's been so busy lately though, not much riding going on this summer. However, things are ah lookin' up finally so I'm looking forward to getting back out there once again to log some more miles!

I still work, so my riding is mostly on the weekends and in the evenings if I get home and there is still enough light. I live on a 'hilly' street so I am getting plenty of 'hill time!'
Putting in a few miles really takes away the stress of the day.

I do the same thing on my two wheeled bents! Ride and log. I can even do it on my phone. My Garmin 510 is connected via blue-tooth to my cell phone. When I am done with my ride I hit stop and then transmit the info to the Garmin website where I can look at all the statistics there. I take the total and put that on BJ.

If you want to see what the Garmin website with my info transferred to it via my cell phone, click here. (If you click this let me know if it worked or not. If you are not logged in in my name, I don't know if you can see this stuff. Thanks!)

I could see it just fine, but then again I also have a Garmin Connect account so I don't know if that gives me any different viewing privileges on the website. :idunno:

WOW!! I never dreamed there could be so much information from a 20 mile bike ride!
That Garmin stuff is way above my understanding! I see a lot of runners on the greenways with some sort of device strapped to their upper arm. I guess that may be the same sort of set up. A lot are just playing music and not paying much attention to where they are running. I guess I am a 'luddite' at heart, I just use a simple odometer/speedometer and write down my miles.

Nothing wrong with being a Luddite, of sorts. I also only use a handlebar-style 'puter. I keep my rides data on an Excel spreadsheet, but only date, mileage, and where I went. Everything is manually written in.
