For Sale: Optima Dragon Recumbent Bicycle

Netherlands-based Optima Cycles makes the some of the best recumbent bikes in the world. The Dragon is a superb SWB touring recumbent that is smooth, efficient, speedy, and a blast to ride. The Dragon won Recumbent of the Year in 1998 and 2002, and it is certainly worthy of the award!
I believe my bike model is a 2002. This model was made in Holland (they are now made in Taiwan).

    Features:

Under-seat steering, 9 speed, 26 inch rear wheel, 20 inch front wheel, v-brakes, aluminum frame, rear suspension (coil shock, chromoly swing arm), 170 mm cranks. I currently have Shimano SPD pedals on the bike, but can switch out to standard pedals if you prefer. Shimano deore components: hub, brakes, shifters, derailer. Front and rear fenders, back rack. Hardshell seat with foam pad with upgraded breathable mesh seat cover.

Sizing is very flexible: the boom slides in and out and the chain can be lengthened or shortened as needed. This bike should be able to accommodate someone in the range of 5' to 6' feet in height (and possibly more or less, but we'd have to get you on the bike to size it.)

The recumbent is in great solid shape, though it does have some cosmetic scuffs and scratches.

MSRP on the Dragon (or it's latest incarnation, the Falcon) is $2300. Asking $800 firm, shipping is extra if you are not local.[...]
