Prizes will be awarded to ride participants for best decorated person, best decorated bicycle and best decorated helmet. There is a post over in the ROCKET Resurrection thread mentioning this ride as a 1st R.O.C.K.E.T. Riders group ride of 2010. There's plenty of time left to prepare and plan, and besides WHO doesn't like Hot Chocolate & Cookies?! :wink9:

EDIT: Sorry for the initial confusion, but per this page (see 'Events' section) it appears the ride will be held on Thursday, Dec 16th this year.

Well folks, the weather certainly isn't looking very cooperative for this coming THURSDAY, Dec 16, 2010...

I guess we'll watch for any changes in the next day or two and decide whether we want to ride in the Tour de Lights of Knoxville this year. :confused9:

It looks like it will be miserable. They are calling for rain and cold. I would be surprised if they don't cancel it. In the meantime, I'm getting my bikes ready since the whole family wants to do it weather permitting. Not sure about where to meet since i am not that familiar with market square. I'll talk to my son to see where he thinks we should be. He is down there all the time

    Tour de Lights rescheduled‏

    From
    Kelley Segars

Due to the rain forecasted for Thursday, we have rescheduled Tour de
Lights to next Tuesday, December 21. Everything will happen at the same
    time as planned.

Let's hope the current forecast for a sunny day in the 40s on Tuesday
    holds!

And, hey, this gives you another weekend to get battery-powered LED
lights and put them on your bike, helmet, and/or trailer!

Thanxx for the Heads-Up Buddy!:cool9: I've revised the Event Date to the 21st, and as such users will have to re-R.S.V.P. now to let everyone know if they plan to make it or not. :smile9:

    Poor weather, at best

No it doesn't look too promising and I won't know if I have to work-over until tomorrow afternoon, so with that said I'm opting out of the ride as well.

That's OK though, as Buddy said there will be better days to ride the Greenways some and hopefully in daylight hours! :wink9:

    Greenway riding

I'd be up for a daylight ride on the Greenways' too. That is, if it's a day I'm off and haven't worked 12-13 hours the night before!!!:eek9:

Hopefully the weather will cooperate in the next couple of weeks and we can get a good ride in.
