Yesterday was a beautiful day. Sunny and 70's. I decided to take 1/2 a day off from work and go see Keila at U-Man Power in Townsend. I took my Bacchetta. Keila had not seen this bike in person, so I showed her the bike and talked to her about it. I had her take this picture. That bent can make an old man "look" fast even if he isn't!!! (Notice I am wearing the very good looking RRI jersey! If you would like to purchase a jersey just click the word jersey and it will take you to the Bend It website where you can purchase them. You would look great at the SMRR in May 2012!!!)

After looking at their shop I decided to ride to the Coulter Bridge and back. This is part of the Friday bike ride at the Smoky Mountain Recumbent Rally in May. The follow are pictures along the way I took with my cell phone.

The ride follows the river for the first 10 miles.

This is looking back at the mountains I just came through to get to Coulter Bridge.

Old Walland Highway is the old road to get to Townsend from Knoxville. Since the new road was built, Old Walland Highway receives very little car traffic yet the views are spectacular. And it is all asphalt in good condition!!!

Finally made it back to U-Mann where I parked my car. Here is a picture of Keila and their shop.

All of the SMRR rides will be leaving from here in May. Plenty of parking but you can ride from the local hotels because they are not far from the shop.

Rode 21.6 miles averaging 16.9 MPH on a winding back roads. I was happy with my performance.

One last piece of information about the Smoky Mountain Recumbent Rally. We only have 7 people signed up so far and only two from our club (Me and A.D.). So if you are planning to come, please sign up soon. If we don't get at least 20 people we will have to cancel the event due to lack of interest. :sad9: And after all the hard work Keila has put into this, I would have to :hissyfit9:.
