True. Sorry work didn't let you go long enough for even a quick pedal.

As for my ride today, I've blogged it with photos AND a few clips from yesterday's ride made into a YouTube vid. No music or sound. Just my feet flashing past in the corners as the rest of the scenery streams by. :tongue9:

Please keep riding and keep posting I am recovering from triple heart bypass surgery and right now all I can do is live throught your post and stories . I will not be able to ride my Performer agenda for at least another month as I wait for my breastbone to grow back together. I can't take the chance on falling and getting hurt so walking is my only form of exercise at this early point. So ride safe and ride long.

    Great Local Weather

And we're almost caught up with Fall gardening chores...
so I went for an actual ride.

The dog that chases me, chased me.
She's three-legged now, with shaved fur on her
    lame back leg.
I bet she was hit by a car.
Yet there she was, loose as usual.

    Christmas decorations are going up.

Did I mention the fantastic weather?
Well, it is. It's Winter, right?

Only went about 19 miles, before the SUN
was too low in the sky for my eyes,
for an average speed of 16.3mph.

    No rabbits.
    Or wabbits.

Aiming for 2000 miles on recumbents this year, with under a hundred to go I had to go out today. The average temperature was only 3C (37F) so only managed 25 miles or so with a couple of tea stops to warm up ! Only 67 miles to go now, and then I'll have doubled my recumbent mileage from last year.

Go Adrian. Last year was my first 2,000 year. Congratulations. Well done! You should be very proud of yourself!!!

    Awesome, Adrian!

With temps down around 1 F (-16 c) I'll have to cycle vicariously until it edges up to about 25 F. My bulletproof wool thermals may have won me another 20 degrees to cycle in, but pushing 0 F is too cold to want to do more than run from one heated area to another. :rolleyes9:

Above freezing I'm happy enough to go out as long as it's dry, but I think I'd draw the line at cycling much below that, mind you I note the Swedes are a bit tougher than me and the cycle racks in Uppsala station appear to be as full over the winter as in summer !

Ahh, but I'm not Swedish! I'm a transplanted small town girl from the rarely below freezing regions of the U.S. The last few years I still lived in Alabama, even frost was a rarity. :tongue9:

Oddly, I often seem more resistant to the cold than most Swedes are. :eek9:

Well this thread is about to end. But don't worry, a new thread "My Most Recent Ride 2013" will take its place.

I probably got one of my last rides in this year. Rode 23.4 miles and it was 69 degrees outside on December 4th!!! Geesh!! Can't beat this warm December weather!!

I haven't ridden that much lately because of work and for an added bonus, I cracked and lost 1/2 a tooth on my birthday (last Friday). So I spent 1 1/2 hours in a dentist chair on Monday which killed any riding that day.

The rest of this week I am out of town so no riding. I am back a week then our family is going off for a week long cruise in the Caribbean. (Lots of fun but no cycling.) Then I get back and it is Christmas then New Years. So this year is about shot as far as riding for me. However, I did beat my personal best miles (which was last year) so I am happy to end the year on a good note.

Hope more of you are getting your last rides in this year!!! Hope Santa brings you recumbent goodies this Christmas too!!!

Have a nice December, Jon! Sounds like you have a lot planned!

I'm hoping I'll get a few more rides in. First, I fouled the gears. Then it was too cold followed by catching a bad cold. Now? Blizzard! It's almost as if winter said, 'So you think you can ride through me because of a larger rear wheel? Take THIS!!' :rolleyes9:

Even busses and trains have come to a standstill!

Snuck in another ride today. 60 degrees and the sun came out. Rode my trusty V Rex. It is a great bent when riding on greenways (which I did today).

    Yay! I got a ride in! :jiggy9:

Most of the paths and streets have been paved thankfully and it was a relatively mild 24 F (4.6 C). No sun, but also no wind and not snowing.

Loke was thrilled to death to get out. We did about 6 miles, but with the snow it felt more like 15 miles on unpaved roads. With a 20 mile headwind. Uphill. :tongue9:

It felt great to be out though. Amazing how free I feel with the Sprint. I grinned every time I went through a boggy patch of snow instead of cringing. Hopefully I can be as nonchalant about ice ruts come the thaw! :yes9:

    Terii

P.S. Just 42 miles to break 800 for the year! I'm going to give it a shot!!

A long rambling description of my ride yesterday. I think it came out so long because it's the first truly snowy ride I've done in years. A few photos of the scenery and Loke!
