Got ride envy you guys! Loke's being a pain in the rump which makes it worse. We've had a major arctic blast come through. Today is balmy at 16 F, but a couple days ago we were down to -7 F. Too much even for my thermals. :tongue9:

Keep racking up the miles! :jiggy9:

Five of us did the Greene County Bridge Burner's bike route...17 or so miles.
The P-38 with Zzipper and tailsock did quite well. Mark has the GRR and
will be installing the body sock as soon as he gets it in the mail. Hoping
it will let me go fast. Mickey was way out front today.

Glad you had a nice day and good ride.

6.5+ miles today which is just the river loop with extension.

Woke this morning to 22 F which is quite warm compared to the past week. Around 1 pm it was nearly 28 F. I was so out the door. It was gray and murky. I went with just 2 layers. My bullet proof thermals top and bottom with lycra over it to keep cast off ice from sticking to the wool.

Loke was THRILLED to be going out the door. He was being a bit of a butt all morning. I wrestled everything out the door, assembled the trike and then had to knock ice out of my cleats.

Most of the first mile went fine, but then I started feeling something cold and wet hitting my face. I couldn't tell if it was snowing or suddenly ice was being thrown by my right wheel. The answer was yes to both. :o_O9:

It began sticking to my glasses, which also began to fog up. It wanted to glue itself to my face and all down the side of my body in spite of the lycra which generally sheds snow/ice easily. Thankfully, I had my face mask which kept the worst of the ice off my ear, cheek and, most importantly, my neck. Loke was happy though. The snow fall thickened, the flakes were more like grains of sand than snow, but it added to icing problem. Dry and hard as it was, it also began to blow around in the rather frolicsome breeze.

Amazing how much ice you can accumulate in 6+ miles. :rolleyes9:

Felt good to get home, get the trike in, knock the ice off and have a huge cup of orange hot chocolate. Mmmmmmm. :yes9:

    Hats off to the riders

Way to go Terii. My Mary wants snow. I'll tell here we will need to
visit Sweden and get her reaction.

Well Jon you are beating me daily. Four of us retired people, did 10
miles. At least I left after 10. The other three may have done the
Washington County Philadelphia ride twice. I had a honey-do list.

About 55 degrees and bright sunshine, no wind.

Thanks for the encouragement and worship. :jiggy9: Fact is, if I don't take advantage of this relative lack of snow while I can, I may not be able to ride until April. I've managed a little over 30 miles since Jan 1st and would have had more if not for the plunge to -7 F and a random attack of severe back pain. :eek9:

Sadly, we're supposed to be hit with snow over the weekend. :sad9: Yesterday's snow was just a sandy dusting so it doesn't count, but what's coming is supposed to be a proper snow fall. Hoping I can get a couple more rides in before it strikes. Maybe even longer rides of 15 to 20 miles.

    Buddy,

Can you post the link to your Greene County riding club again? I am planning to surprise you and show up. But I can't find the website. I'll let you know when I plan to come so you can leave sooner without me!
