So, I have a few miles on the new Venom highracer trike. She is faster. I'm not sure if it's because of the 24" wheels or because these wheels are just so much better than the 20" jetset wheels. Tracks much better especially on the downhills. What used to be a pretty scary thing is now fun. I was coming down a hill today at 36 mph loving my Schlumph HSD as I pedaled with a cadence of around 70. The trike stayed absolutely rock steady.

Bumps, pavement cracks, railroad tracks all are sooo much better than before. Big wheels do roll easier. Even downhill curves feel more stable. I think this is probably due to the Velocity rims and the Sapim spokes creating a stiffer wheel that just doesn't flex. Im loving these wheels. Thanks again to Serenity for,all of your help.

    Beautiful Wheels!

    You know what, Mr. Ward?

I bet you that the front-end geometry of your trike is different
    with your larger-diameter wheels mounted
than it was with the original small-diameter wheels it came with.

    Maybe more caster effect.
Self-centering... what is that called... more trail?

    Whatever:
    Beeeeauooootiful wheels.

    :biggrin9:

Beautiful bike indeed! Wow, that is just an incredible bike! Thanks for the comment, I am and was happy to help! Willie G was drooling too. He said your bike should be really awesome with the new trail.

Do you think that the better handling was achieved do to the change in caster or the stability of the new 24” wheels? I too have a KMX with 20"/406, 2” BA in the front and a 26”/559, 2” BA in the rear. I’m considering changing to a 24” /507, 2” BA in the rear to make the steering more stable (caster change). I wish to keep the trike as low as possible. What’s the verdict, 24” or 26” or ??? THANKS!!

I guess y'all are right about the trail, all I know is I like it. Bumps don't throw the steering one way or the other even when I don't hit them head on. The coolest thing is I can still do tight circles in parking lots and stuff, hasn't taken away the fun factor.

Next up will be working on the seat mounting system. I'm going to try and mimic the passive suspension system on the WC.

Irv, I wish I could answer that question. 26" wheels are MUCH easier to find and probably cheaper. I waited almost a year for these to be built. I don't think there would be that much difference between the two sizes.
As far as keeping it low, I don't feel higher off the ground, in fact it feels more aerodynamic as the seat back is lower. Another plus, its easier to stand up.
