I got my mug...been using it too...Hot tea!

On another note, I am beginning to get the T-shirts in for the ones that have registed and they look pretty neat.

Also, I am too far along and don't plan on canceling the Rally, so I have gone out to the "by-ways and hedges" looking for those willing to come to my event. I am opening the rally starting in April for regular DF folks who are interested in Recumbents and want to see what they're all about. Kelly Segars won't announce it on her website or other DF sites until April 2. So if you don't want to get out numbered by registered DF folks don't wait too long.

    SMRR Sounds Cool!

    Hey riders!

I'm really happy to see an event in the TN/NC area. I'm wondering where the riding would take place. I'm not familiar with Townsend, TN.

I'm also wondering where the group would stay.

I attended a 'bent rally in Bath, NY in about 2004 which was awsome. We all stayed in a pretty big commercial campground. We had plenty of room and we had a lot of fun.

    Rally Camping

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but are there any good places to camp nearby close to where the recembent rally is being held? I was thinking about bringing my tent camper up from Florida, but may be too far. Just wondering. Thanks for the info!

Lots of local camping. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park has camping but you have to reserve a spot and they fill up early. Elmont and Cades Cove would work but you have to make reservations early and you would have to drive back to Townsend for our events. Click here for more information.

There are several private campgrounds in Townsend. Click here to see some of them. Click here for some more. They are close to each other and all of them will allow you to keep your car parked and ride to most events. It would be wise to make reservation there also but they don't fill up as fast.

For those of you who are interested or don't know,Townsend hotels and campgrounds will fill up FAST! I have found out, there is an "Old Car Motor Rally" of some sort the SAME weekend our rally is taking place! If ANYONE plans on camping or staying in a hotel. I will tell you right now,you better call and see if there are available spots to reserve.

Also, I will be releasing the FINAL AGENDA later this afternoon before I leave my shop. You can view each days events if you like but also keep in mind, a copy of the agenda will be placed in each registered persons goodie bag.

Lastly, I have 12 people signed up already, as of yesterday it will be broadcasted to the DF community. As many folks can come as they want, but dinner is limited to a certain number and on a "FIRST TO REGISTER FIRST SERVE" basis. Once I reach the max number allowable the dinner option will be removed from the registration form. So if you are planning on coming and attending dinner, don't wait too long.

Each day's activities are posted in the itinerary but to answer this question, the answer is yes. The Bike shop will be open Regular Business hours unless we make other plans and I'll probably have someone fill in during the time that I am not there.

    Thursday 10:00-6:00pm
    Friday 10:00 to 6:00pm
    Saturday CLOSED
    Sunday 10:00 - 6:00pm

I will be at the bike shop on Thursday, until 6 after which I will be at the Heritage Center for the opening remarks.

I will participate in the morning ride Friday Morning (short ride) and will have a fill in at the shop during that time. After the ride I will be at the shop until everyone arrives for the afternoon games/product demos. After that I'll probably participate in the ride to Tremont and evening group social dinner. Shop closes at 6pm.

Saturday is the only day during the rally that the shop will be closed. I'll participate in the cades cove ride and the rest of the day is free for everyone to spend with their families, tour Townsend or do what ever they want. I will be "out of pocket" until 6pm at which I'll be getting things ready for the evening group dinner.

Sunday shop opens at 10:00 am as usual There is a ride but I probably won't be participating in that one.

I have extended the online deadline for registration. Deadline is April 30. This is it though.:gripe:
Online registration cannot stay open forever. If you register beyond this date you will have to call in or come by the shop. The $15 late fee will apply regardless if it is for the rally or dinner only option.

This event has been announced since last September:witsend:...there has been more than enough time to decide.:mmm: All rules/regs regarding goodie bags & t-shirts will still apply.

    Hello,

I would like to camp (in a tent) at the rally. Is anyone else planning on doing the same? If so, where? Or better yet, does anyone know someone there that has a field I can pitch my tent in (no fire pit needed)?
