    Greetings from Michigan.

My wife and I are planning a tour from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Washington DC. I am hoping someone here could help us to map out a route across Ohio to the GAP in PA. We will be coming into Ohio from Michigan somewhere near Perrysburg (or somewhere else if you think it would be better). We hope to use roads with shoulders and rail trails . Google maps was not all that helpful. We certainly would appreciate any help you can give us.
    Thank you,
    Don and Candie

Not a direct answer to your question, but maybe a place to start at: Ohio Department of Transportation and Biking Pages. In part, the page claims: Today, Ohio has more than 3,000 miles of designated bike paths used by an estimated 4 million bicycle owners.

Also, don't overlook The On-line Bike Touring Archive

I've also attached a PDF file called BICYCLE MAPS and GUIDEBOOKS, some of which detail the Ohio region.

A.D has a good idea. Or you could try the highway toward around Lake Erie to Cleveland.
