Smoky Mtn. Recumbent Rally

It is with great sadness that I am announcing the end of the Smoky Mountain Recumbent Rally. (SMRR) After nearly 13 years of hosting one of the best rally's ever, we must let it come to an end. There are several reasons but the primary factor is that my husband was in a motorcycle accident and is now paralyzed from the chest down. He nor I will be continuing the rally of our own accord. It require the both of us to make it work an with him "down" I will not be doing it myself. So sadly as it is, we are letting it go. We appreciate everyone who has attended in the past, been a speaker or contributor to the success. For without you the rally wouldn't be a rally. If anyone else out there wants to pick up the event, you are more than welcome but for us, we have to much too do and too much has changed in our lives to allow the time any longer. We'll still ride somehow, we just won't be sponsoring the rally any more. So hopefully we'll be seeing you on a trail sometime.

Thank you for providing that option. I felt helpless with the news, but not anymore because I was able to do "something."
