For right now, it seems anyway...

This Baron recumbent bicycle ( Yellowbike/ Optima brand serial number E37566) is in excellent condition. I purchased it new on January, 2001 for $2,500.00 (US dollars) and it has only been ridden by myself (less than 1,000 miles).
This Baron recumbent bicycle weighs 28.5 pounds and has a 52" wheelbase .
This Baron can accommodate any size adult (above 4'6" in height) with an adjustable boom (shown in picture) which the crank set is welded unto. The Baron's seat is also adjustable in pitch (upright or laid back positions).
The Baron's frame is made of high quality aluminum (large diameter aluminum) which is very light and strong and can support 300 pounds.
The Baron's painted finish is a superior yellow paint formulated specifically for aluminum bike frames.
The Baron's rear tire is 26" X 1.3" and its front tire is 20" X 1.75". Both hubs are Shimano Deore brand.
The Baron's crankset is a Shimano Tiagra brand, with two chainrings : 52 teeth and 40 teeth respectively.
The Baron's front derallieur is a Shimano Tiagra brand and its rear derallieur is a Shimano Ultegra brand.
The Baron's shift levers and brakes and brake levers are Shimano Deore brand.
The Baron's (nine gear) rear cassettee is also a Shimano Deore brand with the smallest cog having 12 teeth whilst the largest cog has 32 teeth. The Baron has eighteen speeds avaliable between the two chainrings and nine speed (cog) rear cassette. Although the bike is fast, hills are climbed easily ( with the lower gears) and flat roads can be traversed quickly using the higher gears.
The Baron's seat (at its lowest point) is 14" from the ground to seat. Ther Baron is a fast bike and is absolutely aerodynamically superior to most bikes, including other recumbent bicycles. This translates into more distance covered for less energy exerted.
The Baron is a bicycle that really puts the fun back intop bike riding. It is quite comfortable to ride as the body is in a natural position as opposed to a conventional bicycle.
The cost of the Baron is $1,200.00 (US dollars). FREE SHIPMENT ANYWHERE IN THE USA WILL BE DONE FOR THE PURCHASER OF THE BARON

    ASHOUR,
I got your msg via the CONTACT US page inquiring about this, but I didn't know of any Optima Barron for sale.:confused9: Reason is, this Thread was originally started back on 01-17-2007. So it's been l-o-n-g gone off eBay for some time now. :sad9:

Anyway in reference to your questions about one, I've only ridden with one person that had one before. It was on a week long tour in Florida, so there weren't any hills to speak of. He could cruise along on level ground with impressive speed, and often sprinted for a few miles at a time and then pull over to rest in the shade somewhere until we caught up with him again. Best I can recall he was about my height, which is 5' 9", and it seemed to fit him just fine. A Baron is a nice ride, but it would take some getting used to as I've never been on a low-racer before.
