Thanks, after I posted my question I also found Skagen Custom Frames. I have already sent an email trying to contact him. What I am trying to figure out is why you would need a safety harness on a recumbent seat.

The frame is made so that the captain rides on a regular DF seat in the rear. The stoker sits on the recumbent part on the front. These types of hybrid recumbents are often used for handicapped people so the harness is used to keep them in the seat.

I had found the same link to Skagen Custom Frames that AD found so this morning I called Island Park Cycles and they called Larry Skagen to the phone. What fries me is that I am the second person to have contacted him about this frame.

I had seen this site some time back:

    http://www.abikeforgareth.org/bike/

So it was in my thinking that it had been constructed for just this purpose. Larry told me it was originally constructed for a blind woman, but she never could get comfortable with the ride and it was sold to some one who had a child with CP and that was when the harness was added. He said that it was originally constructed to be steered by the Stocker by use of rods the same as when I had the Vision set up with USS and LWB. He did agree with me that it could be set up so that the Capitan could steer using USS.

If some one on this forum needs this bike let me know and I won't drive the bidding. Other wise "It's Mine", I hope.

I'm surprised  at what this frame went for. Guess it just goes to show what I didn't know eh? :eek9:

I'm not. Larry said he charged $1200 for the frame originally and the only commercially built recumbent/df tandem frame goes for over $5000.00. I figured that if we didn't like it totally rebuilt I could recover my investment.
