It can be! Or sometimes just a sliver of egg shell! Rune fragments in a wooded area thick with tumbled stones are such a joy to chase down. I rarely try with the ones I've discovered are just bits or pieces when they're in the middle of a field or thicket.

This one was in about 3 pieces, tucked under the drooping branches of an ornamental conifer in someone's yard. I think I kept missing it because I really dislike tromping across someone's lawn. :rolleyes9:

Combined two greenways I ride for a total of 24.9 miles at lunch today. Weather is GORGEOUS!!! Only 77 degrees and 42% humidity (low for us this time of year). So I had to take a nice long ride. It was great!!!

Logged in my miles a Bike Journal and see there are three of us close together at around 770 miles. i'm #9 in the club so far. There is me, Aushiker and Sccrmadnes. But for me to leapfrong the next highest member (Maxairedale) I have to total 1,096 or a mere 320 miles more. :yikes: That is a HUGE gap, so I guess the three of us will play by ourselves.

7.5 -ish miles. Meant to go out early, but my right hip was hurting for some reason which killed motivation. Then I decided it would probably be less uncomfortable to ride the trike than have Jens drag me out for an hour's walk.

It was already a bit uncomfortably warm for a moving husky, so even Loke was content to go slow. I didn't do any work on cadence, but took a very leisurely pace, coasting when I could to spare myself additional discomfort. I added the the Grave Mound stretch to the River Loop for a little extra distance and left it at that.

Well, will not chase down Glenn, he is already nearing my goal for the year in mileage. The Challenge will be holding off Flying1960 for second.

Another ride yesterday. Bright and early when it was about 65 F. Quite nice actually and so quiet at 6 am on a Sunday. I'd planned for us to get 12-14 mph, but my legs are still feeling weak as wrung out rags and Loke didn't seem too interested in moving fast. So, I did the Grave Mounds combined with the River Loop for about 6.15 miles.

Watched a pair of hares chasing and boxing each other around an open park area between the houses of two residential streets. Silly beasts came within 30 feet of us at one point.

I also stopped to do a brief workout with my arms at an out-door exercise 'park'. I might make that a 'thing' on my River Loop rides.

Not a bad ride. I just wish I could talk Jens into not nagging me about exercise for a day so I'll MAYBE feel stronger. :rolleyes9: I hate the feeling of the muscles being 'tired' clear down to the bone.

A very short ride this morning. Just 3.27 miles at around 8 am. By then it was already pushing 77 F in the shade and 85+ in the SUN. They were actually warning about potential heat related issues on the news this morning, telling people to take precautions with the young and old in particular.

So, for the next few days, I'll be riding early in the morning and keeping them short so Loke and I can be home before it gets warm enough to cook a husky in his fur. Or a woman on her trike though it helps I FINALLY found tights that aren't black! :eek9: Can you believe it!? :jiggy9:

Rode my circle route. When I came to the car there was a guy there with a bike stand and a sign saying he does mobile tuneups. So for $20 I let him clean & oil my chain (it was filty dirty. YUK!!!) and clean my frame. Took about 20 minutes.

This was the first recumbent bike he worked on because he tried to get it in his Park Tool stand and the claw was too small to hold it. Talked to him and found out he is an unemployed school music teacher. OUCH!

But he was interested in my recumbent so I gave him a RRI card and let him ride my bent. He did really well. He was smiling and said when he gets older, he will have to get him one of these. So I guess recumbents are for old farts like me!!!! :o_O9:

With age often comes wisdom. Too bad many wait so long to wise up.

As to your particular "bent" toward flatulence, well, just consider it jet-assist.

This year weather in Tennessee is crazy!!! It was in the high 80s just two days ago and then we had a cool front move in which cause hail, rain and I lost power for 6 hours at my house and still don't have cable or internet.

The good side of this is I rode today and it is the end of July and yet the temperature was in the mid 70s. This is like Spring weather and the skies are clear blue! WOW! Rode 16.4 miles and wish I had 1/2 a day to devote to riding. But alas, I still am a working schmuck so I am back chained to my desk looking out the window. :sad9:

First ride of the year. 37.5 miles. Took most of the day. Stopped to take a drink every sage brush i came to. Stopped to pee every creosote bush i came to....:jiggy9:

Of course the weatherman indicates most y'all are in for a wet winter So since this area averages about 275 days of sunshine a year, i may have a chance to catch some of you.

Late yesterday I rode Kadiddle in Monroe, LA along my so called Duck Dynasty ride. First time to ride that route for Kadiddle. Oh course it is humid as ^#&& here. Hope to ride again today. Then back to Arkansas I go.
